Welp.... this one confirmed a lot of stuff for me that for some strange reason I'm not willing to confront or connect with even though I know for sure it's me (shame on you, self!). But on to my memory:
The scent of flora carried in the wind as a band of...beings started to play a melodious and soul stirring piece, with strings, soft drums and bass instruments. It's hard too describe: I imagine the music back then sounded way different than it did now.
I looked at myself in the mirror: In this dream I had skin the color of hot cocoa with eyes that were a deep color...black or a very intensely dark blue or green. I saw a flicker of color in them for the briefest of seconds. But the strangest thing about my appearance was that I had garnet colored hair that fell to my mid back. Also I was adorned in tattoos and jewelry with dark makeup. Upon seeing myself in this same appearance for the fourth or fifth time, something deep with me said "Yes was me...is me."
Everything matches up to what I look like now save for the hair color and length.
Back to the event. A little boy tugged my arm. "Lili'el, it's starting! Come on!" I don't know who he was (I know he had short blond hair and looked about 11 years old) but I knew that he was someone I would take a blade for. We walk up a long set of stairs until we reach a balcony. Angels walked through the hall, with heads held high. Some smile, but none could hide the battle weariness. I assume they must've come home from a victory?
People praised them, held the heroes (take that however you want) in tight embraces and welcomed them back.
Though it all seemed joyful, I had a feeling that I didn't not belong. I should not have been there.
'I should not be here, not now,' Lili'el/I said. The feeling persisted, but the little boy wanted to go see them so badly....
"Who's that," he asked.
I/Lili'el looked to a tall man with long red hair, also in armor. He looked forward with determination and solemness.
I smiled. "He's a good friend of mine".
"But who is the man before him?"
My/Lili'el's eyes widened. "It can't be...Michael?"
The boy tugged on my skirt. "Lili'el do you know them?"
"Yes. I know Michael. He is one of their leaders. And...one of the most feared." Just then the red haired warrior looked to me. He nodded sharply, but I broke into a full unapologetic smile.
'You are not of our rankings. What brings you here?' a voice asked. I felt my heart sink and break then ignite in a wave of anger.
"Lili'el?" the boy called. "Lili what's wrong?" I/Lili'el smiled back and gently stroked his wheat colored hair.
"Nothing. The parade is over, love. Let's go now," I said. I gave him a kiss and we left.
"You know another of them, don't you?" said the boy. I bit my lip. I didn't know what to tell him. I got the sense that I/Lili'el was hiding something.
"Yes. Another one who is feared by many other. But I do not. I do not fear him. And I will not bow to his feet."
So ends the memory. For now at least. Comments? I'd love to hear what you think
