I've been on both sides of that crucifix too, Dance, and know what you're talking about. There is a difference between expressing personal beliefs, and trying to convince others to believe what you do. From what you've said here, I don't think you'll cross that line.

Ish, as usual, hit it right on the head. Please don't think you have to censor yourself just because someone else might not share your experience. I talk to God a lot too, and get answers, and have fascinating conversations with atheist friends who know I think that. We walk away at the end with our opposite beliefs intact, but all kinds of interesting thoughts in between. It's a dirty shame so many people need everyone around them to believe the same things they do, but that is not always the case.
