PostSubject: Salutations and   Mon Apr 26, 2010 2:48 pm

where to begin.

First I'd like to thank the kind souls who have this site/forum. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have found it, and approved to be a member. =)

There are so many places I could start. My perspective as a child which led to me questioning religion which led me in a rambling way to my research and discarding of organized religion over the years, which in turn, led my tutelary and my current self.

Some general things about me are that I'm married; my husband and I have been married for almost twenty one years now. We have three sons, whom I affectionately refer to as monkeys, even though they're all bigger than me now. I'm owned by a cat, love coffee, and live in the lovely state of Alabama.

Since I'm not sure exactly where to start, if anyone wants to know anything specific, toss it out here and I'll do my best to answer it from my perspective/experience. There's more I don't know than what I do know, however without invalidating anyone else, I'll be happy to share what I can, if asked.

Right now, I have to go run about ten errands and then I'll be back. I've been pondering what to put in my intro post since I was approved and just don't know where to start, to be honest with you. =)

Maybe I should toss out some of the things I've heavily researched. (And I have plenty of theories and no proof. LOL) The why I've researched such topics can be questioned and will be answered to the best of my abilities.

Anything angel/demon/nephilim related; linguistics--Enochian, Greek, Hebrew; lucid dreaming; metaphysics; sigils and symbols; synesthesia.

There's a few other things I've researched which sort of branch off from those main topics, however I also have a varied list of interests I'd be willing to toss out which I've done some research on, however not necessarily extensive.

Thank you again for having this forum/site. It's no accident that I'm here, I do know that much.

Welcome Valthasar... you sound like an interesting person I'd like to get to know better. Smile I've also done a lot of research, but it sounds like you might have a leg up on me. I'd be curious to know what your beliefs are about what you've found through your research and how your beliefs have changed as a result. You're from Alabama, huh? I lived in LA (lower Alabama) about 15 years ago for around 3-4 years. Then again, I've lived a lot of different places over the years! Knowing the state, I'm wondering if having a non-traditional belief system has caused any conflicts in your life. I know I tend to hide my non-traditional beliefs from my family because it would cause too much conflict... too many questions. And too much disappointment. So I think that if you're looking to explore your beliefs further and get some validation - whatever that may be - then you have come to the right place. I haven't been around very long myself, but I have come to know this site and these people as honorable, open-minded, and willing to listen without judgment. Hopefully I can say the same about myself. Wink

When you have the time, post some more. I'm looking forward to hearing your story.

Myth

Thanks, Myth. =)

My previous religious history was that I was a preacher's daughter. Even at the age of seven, I remember having questions and being the kid who was ignored because of those things I was wondering.

For example, the denomination I was brought up in, just about everything was a "sin" and that's just the way it was. (Yes, I was raised baptist.) I was asking things like if drinking alcohol was such a sin, why was the first miracle that Jesus did was turning water into wine. And if "God" was so forgiving, then why not forgive Lucifer and the others for doing nothing more than exerting their free will. That was my mindset even from an early age. LOL

Then I was catholic a few years. Then I tried a generic, non-denominational church, both of which did even less for me. Regardless of what church I went to, I never felt all that great about myself. I always felt like regardless of what I tried to do as a person to be a decent person, it would never be enough. I finally gave up on organized or even semi-organized religion and never looked back. =D

For some years after I gave up on any sort of religion, I finally decided I wanted to write a generically pagan character for a piece of fiction I was working on. Knowing nothing about it, I started researching it and began to find out that there were parallels to things I believed but didn't necessarily realize other people believed/thought. Things like balance, etc. As a child, I'd been able to see colors around people but because nobody ever talked about that sort of thing, I figured I better keep it to myself, so I learned how to shut it off. It remained shut off for many, many years. My research led me to discover something called lucid dreaming, which I had always been able to do.

What is interesting is that when I turned my back on organized religion, that's when I finally quit feeling like I was such a rotten person/pond scum who was headed to hell in a hand basket regardless of what I did or didn't do. I finally felt like a decent person and my self-esteem went up to a normal level. =)

Now I didn't say I was actually from Alabama, but we moved here in the late autumn because of my husband's job. =) We like it here and we're in lower Alabama. It's lovely here.

My husband is also a former preacher's son, so we've had a rather strange philosophy about bringing up our children. We pretty much decided we'd not ever choose their vocations, their spouse, nor their religious beliefs. While we aren't openly much of anything because of family, namely his and mine. That said, our children know that if they want to know about a religious belief, we will do our best to help them find out more about it.

But I totally get the whole too many questions, too much disappointment/conflict thing in regards to family.

I'm always happy to further explore my beliefs, search out further validation and if I can do that with others who are into similar topics, then I'm all for it. =D

It's so great to be here. There's a million things I want to toss out but at the same time, I don't want to spam anyone with posts. LOL

Baptist... yeah, they do tend to lay on the guilt. Fire and Brimstone, and all that. I can relate to the questioning... things that just didn't make sense, and practically everything you say, including the increased self-esteem after giving up on organized religion. We do still go to church from time to time (currently attending a Baptist church here in Germany). We started back recently because our kids expressed an interest, but I do tend to zone out and read scripture during sermons and such. I learned a long time ago that it's not worth expressing an opinion, questions, or doubts in church. It's like raising a big sign that says "sinner - must save this person's soul". Not worth it. So I did what you did and started looking for my own answers. I'm still looking. Smile

Curious what you mean about lucid dreaming. How does that work?

Seeing colors or auras isn't something I've ever been able to do. Wish I could though! One of my main characters in the book series I'm writing can see auras, so maybe it's wish-fulfillment on my part. Smile

We ended up in LA through my husband's job, too. We called it the "Back door to Hell". Talk about hot! And the red ants & brown recluse are no fun either. That was a rough time in my life, a very trying time. But some good things came of it, and I do believe that all things happen for a purpose. It's all connected in one way or another. I learned a lot from adversity.

From your first post and my own purposes, I think I'm going to start a new topic on symbols and sigils. I actually just posed this question to Azaz'el in a PM tonight about what the symbols/sigils he used in the seal on this site mean, and what the significance of the peacock is to Shadow. I'm doing my own research "project" on symbols related to the Grigori. Wink Maybe you have some answers I'm needing. I think I'll post it in Miscelleny. Very Happy

As for questions, I think the two of us might drive these poor people crazy. That's all I seem to do since coming here!!! lol!

Myth

Indeed. They have the license for hellfire, brimstone, guilt trips and going to hell in a hand basket, in which case I should become a minion of Basement Cat. =D

Exactly. They want you to accept it all; hook, line, and sinker, no questions asked, do not think outside the box, do not pass go and go see Basement Cat now!

Don’t get me wrong. Were we to go visit family and if asked, we would go to church with them to keep peace in the family, we would just keep our mouths shut about not agreeing with any of it.

That said, it’s been fabulous to not have to teach the monkeys to think outside the box about any of this stuff. They haven’t had to even remotely come out from under any beliefs related to organized religion.

Good luck on your search. I’m entirely convinced now that it is possible to be a spiritual person without ever darkening the door of a church. If I can do anything to help, I'd be glad to point you in the direction of whatever. =)

Lucid dreaming. How do I answer this without sounding absolutely batsheet crazy? =)

Okay, lucid dreaming is when your body is asleep in bed and the rest of you is Elsewhere, you’re fully cognizant of that fact that your body is parked in bed. For some reason, I’ve been given the ability to remember dreams. This means I have years of dreams stored in my head, along with many details from them. I have gone to all sorts of places and had all sorts of experiences while my body has been asleep. (I’d like to say for clarification that I do not, nor have I ever done drugs, I have not ever messed with drugs recreationally or psychotropic prescription drugs, alcohol, nor hallucinated. I also have not ever had any sort of problem being sane, normal, functional and have not ever been in therapy for anything. No DID, MPD, or schizophrenia.)

The above disclaimer stated, now I can tell you that I have encountered some of the same people in dreams, I have interacted with them, I have gone to the same places more than once, and can give you details such as colors, textures, smells, etc.

What has been fun has been encountering the tutelary in that state. LOL

I’ve been told that seeing auras can be an acquired skill and not just one that is innate. It was something I shut off for many years because I was under the (grossly) mistaken impression that it was a “bad” thing.

LA. Are you in LA as in Louisiana or LA as in Los Angeles? We used to live in LA as in Louisiana and in fact, I was over there at the zoo/aquarium in NOLA on Thursday. =)

By red ants, do you mean fire ants? My husband was bit by a brown recluse last summer when we lived in Florida. That did NOT help my spider phobia. LOL

There are upswings to adversity sometimes. It’s all in perspective and what can be learned. (And believe me, there’s been a few times where things were so bad, I was wondering what could or would happen next because well, things were just that bad.)

Sweet! I’ll look for your topic on sigils and symbols. =D

The peacock? Usually related to Melek Taus, who is a deity of the Yezidi. Some even say at one point, he was also the Angel of Death or even Lucifer himself. That depends on what you find to read about him, though.

The Grigori. I’ll jump into a discussion about them. I have to cook and oversee what the two younger monkeys are doing for a bit, then I’ll be back around here to see what’s going on.

I don’t believe the Grigori nor the Nephilim were evil. In fact, I got so pissed at crap I was hearing spouted off on Coast to Coast several years ago, that I started doing research about them because the idiots on the radio were claiming “ZOMFG! So Ebul!11eleventyone!!” and I knew they were wrong.

Don’t ask me how I knew, but I just did. That was before the tutelary showed up.

Gosh, don’t even get me started on Judaculla Rock, which is located in western North Carolina.

Thanks for replying back—hope I don’t come off as a complete nut. =)

Why do I get the feeling I'm coming into this conversation late!!!! Razz

Greetings and welcome to the forum valthasar, it's always good to have a new member and especially one who is willing ot accept that thoose of us who are Grigori are not evil!! I did like your somment about what Kin you are........... in time you'll understand if you are Otherkin or Humankin.... all are welcome here, as we're all linked in trying to bring about unification and the ascention of all races.

Please have a stroll through the many different scetions and if at any time you feel you want to discuss anything personal that you don;t want seen in the open forum, just post in the members section, that is only visible to members when they log on.

Both Ishtahar and myself try to keep this forum as open as possible and never shy away from questioning, hoping that we always get across the fact that we don't have all of the answers, our memories are as shattered as many others. Much of what I was has been wiped during my Fall and I am still as much in the dark regarding some aspects as the rest of us. But we are trying our hardest to make sense of much, and share as much as we can in the hope that not only can we find the Grigori and Nephilim, but also the rest of the Shadow willing to move forward, as all other Kin types and Humans who are drawn to us, have a link to us, or just want to help us all learn and grow.

You're spot on with the Peacock, it is a link to and a representation of Melek Taus, the Peacock Angel that was a strong symbolic representation to many Shadow and many of the choirs and ranks. Melek Taus was a symbol of the Creation, perhaps even of the 7.

So, welcome to the forum..... if there's anything you're not sure about, just shout out and any of the Staff will be able to help. And don't be afraid to ask questions or post as much as you want!

Az

It’s never too late to jump in! =D

And also to you, thank you. =)

I’ve never accepted that any entity I mentioned is completely evil. I’m not saying that all of them are completely harmless, mind you. LOL Yes, I do absolutely accept that Grigori aren’t evil, nor are the Nephilim!

Thank you—I’m so interested, find the whole concept fascinating, and would love to figure out if I actually am or not, but that said, I’d hate to flatter myself that much as to presume I possibly could be.
Believe me, as soon as I was approved, I began nosing around in the archives because I was so curious.

I can’t tell you how great it is to have found this site because if I toss out some of the theories I have, you folks may not be too inclined to tell me I’m crazy. LOL

Thank you—I spent several days last spring reading whatever I could find about the Yezidi. =)

Thank you again for welcoming me. I don’t want to be a complete pest, though. Tomorrow when the husband is at work and the boys are at school, I will sort through my folders and binders of stuff and see if I can perhaps narrow down a few things to toss out for comments.

Don't worry. We don't think it's crazy. I have done lucid dreaming for many years now, although mainly to redirect existing dreams or to tell myself to wake up when I was having nightmares. Lucid dreaming was the only way to get past the nightmares, and because I knew that they always happened in oddly shaped houses, whenever I see sinks in the ceiling or floors where windows ought to be (or something along those lines), I tell myself to wake up.

That is so neat you have figured out how to use it to get yourself out of a bad dream.

Although I have to say there's nothing quite like being in the middle of a dream and realizing "Hey, my body is asleep in bed beside the husband. I'm dreaming! This is me, but I'm Elsewhere while my body is parked in the bed! LOL"

Yeah. I know. How sane does that sound? =D

It sounds perfectly sane. Lucid dreaming is recognized today in academic and psychiatric circles as a valid method of exploring the unconscious self, (see more). Plus, I hear it can be really fun.

Welcome btw. I'm Angela, one of the mods here. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to let me or one of the other mods or admin know =)

Dearest valthasar,

Welcome home. There is much to be said and so much to be learned and shared with us all that is, if that be your will and choice! We are all here for you!<--- [no strings no price-tag]

I've done lucid dreaming before I think... that feeling when you realize you're not really asleep but you are asleep. When that happens I can control my dreams, too, to a certain extent. But I don't really go anywhere interesting or fun. I have flown before though, and that was fun. Very Happy But I don't really remember my dreams. At least not usually. Maybe I'll have to pay better attention.

I cannot thank you enough for your kind words.

Since I was approved, I've been caught between nodding to myself as I read and at the same time, feeling very relieved and I really don't know how else to put it.

There's so much from the last few years that I've not had anyone else to really talk to about some of this--there are some things I know I'm okay with sharing with my husband, and some things I'm just not sure about because it would sound crazy, no matter how sane, functional, and normal I am.
javascript:emoticonp('Smile')

Should I start currently and work my way backwards or should I begin where things began and work my way forwards? I'm open to suggestions. LOL

Thank you again, so very much!

Being able to control your dreams is a big part of it. I could do that, but I didn't have a name for it. At first, I would realize I was dreaming and would have the thought of "This is The Craziest Dream Ever! I have got to remember to tell the husband about this when I wake up!"

And I would do just that upon waking.

Oh yes, please do pay attention--you never know what fun things might carry over into your waking life! =)

Dearest one,

"We begin with the now, and then look and reflect both ways weighing and measuring each theme of thought and action as appropriately as possible. And always willing to change, discern and rightfully apply our shared goal of enlightenment with each other!"

"The common eye sees only the outside of things, and judges by that, but the seeing eye pierces through and reads the heart and the soul, finding there capacities which the outside didn't indicate or promise, and which the other kind couldn't detect."

~ MARK TWAIN, Joan of Arc

p.s. we travel one step and thought at a time. Like unto a pathfinder somebody who discovers a route, especially through unmapped territories or uncharted areas of knowledge. Wink

The best thing with any topic is to just follow your heart and begin talking about whatever feels right... maybe start a new thread in whatever section seems most appropriate and just jump in!!! That's what we all do!!!

If A was late I'm even later Smile

Welcome to the forum.

My philosphy is... start in the middle work your way back and then get to the end Razz

I have engaged in lucid dreaming for a long time. I can't always do it but I do it often. I am able to use it to get out of nightmares... especially the ones where I turn up at a math exam to find not only do I not know the answers but all the questions are in a different language AND I'm naked. Yeah... crap at math... alway have been always will be Smile

No the Grigori and nephylim weren't evil, far from it. They just made the mistake of falling in love and being prepared to defend that love no matter what.

Thank you! =D

I'm working on typing up the bits and pieces parts in between doing wife and mom stuff.

It's so awesome that some of you have been able to utilize lucid dreaming to get out of nightmares. Math. Not my thing until I got into researching metaphysical stuff.

As for the Grigori and Nephilim having done nothing wrong but falling in love and being willing to defend that, I absolutely believe it.
