Greetings and welcome to the forum Alhazred,

I'm sure by now you will have a general idea about what this forum is like from Kur and RabidDog, but as you continue to look around at the threads and read the posts you'll see that we are a little different to many of the forums currently in existence.

Titles, activities, positions we once had, all mean very little here........ what is important is the learning process and the chance to finally come together and share what we remember, what we feel, what we think. And this is all done with respect for other members, their views and opinions. Not everyone will agree with you, and you wont agree with everyone, so discussion is encouraged, aggression is not.

If you have any problems with the forum, just shout out to one of the Mods or Admin Team via a pm and we will do all we can to rectify the problem as quickly as possible.

As for recruiting people........ this is not the place to recruit anyone for anything, We're all here to learn and share and understand.

Welcome to the forum

Az

There is always need for differences and new thoughts, opinions and ways of thinking. It's something we do encourage here, as long as its done within the general guidelines of the forum........ I think we've all had too many experiences of flaming, bad mouthing, and down right pathetic arguments on forums to want to face it all again in here. We're all far too old and experienced to keep going through childish behaviour like that! Cool So I do agree that people shouldn't think the same..... we're all different Races, with different experiences and universal views. But in the end there has to be a general consensus, even if that is to agree to disagree.

I have a pretty wicked sense of humour myself, but it can be very difficult to get across the humour in type! Maybe I need to add some facial gestures to the emoticons!

Az

I'll add my welcome, Alhazred.

I hope it won't offend (honestly) if I say that I've never heard of you before. ...? So no worries about being mobbed here, or at least not by me.

I'll second Az, in that this is a place to explore and share in mutual respect for each other. Please feel free to make new posts or add to old ones. If you would like to post more sensitive information there is a Member's Section of the forum.

I also agree with Az on the flaming, bad-mouthing and whatnot. It's so tiresome to encounter around the web... what sets our home apart is that we are a bit more "grown-up" here, regardless, or even in spite of actual age Wink

Welcome

Ash

Greetings, and welcome, Alhazred, to our little corner of the internet! :3

it's quite refreshing to hear about being against all of the chest puffing nonsense, it gets old kinda fast, heheh. though sometimes it's hard to tell what's chest-puffing and what's simply stating facts....

anyway, i look forward to hearing more from you!

Best wishes,
Raz

Welcome home to our humble forum,

I love H. P.Lovecraft too Alhazred (for other's information Alhazred, is a fictional character created by American horror writer H. P. Lovecraft. He is the so-called "Mad Arab" credited with authoring the imaginary book Kitab al-Azif (the Necronomicon), and as such an integral part of Cthulhu Mythos lore.)

Brings back so many many memories of when I was so much younger.

Welcome, Alhazred. I am Melari, a Keeper of the Multiversal Balance, but more specifically, the Deathkeeper of this planet.

You know, sanity really is all relative. As of yet, I see no reason to say that you are insane. Most humans that hear of us think we're ALL insane; we say that we are that which supposedly does not exist—the stuff of fairytales—and because of that, humanity deems us insane. But if we are insane for believing that we are what they don't believe in, then does that make THEM insane in OUR eyes for NOT believing that which WE not only believe in, but also know to be true...?

Again, my point is that sanity is all relative, my friend. In the end, it is—for the most part—a matter of perception; a perception that does not matter overall. It is KNOWLEDGE that is the key factor here.. Insanity is not doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result (as Obama once said); anyone who's won the lottery can tell you THAT. No. In my opinion, the truly insane are those who have succumbed to Darkness and refuse to see the Light, even when it is shining in their faces.

Now, when I speak of insanity, I don't claim to speak for those who are mentally ill (PTSD and other mental illnesses of the sort don't count).

Take my words as you wish.

Dear Alhazred,

I see your point but I definitely wasn't implying that, that one is definitely for sure! I just love H.P. Lovecraft and in his novels he did have a character by that name Necronomicon: The Wanderings of Alhazred!

But are you in fact the Alhazred who wrote "Death Waits Dreaming"? Wow if that be the case you are most dearly welcome but if not you still are most eagerly welcome to be and share with us! Smile

Ashtart, I honestly prefer that people have never heard of me before. Makes things less complicated, makes things so much more easier. I can just be myself and not have to worry about the flood of commentary from the peanut gallery... Pleasure to meet you.

Razi'el, "sometimes it's hard to tell what's chest-puffing and what's simply stating facts...." Yeaaaah.. more so than behind the computer screen. In a fact to fact confrontation. Its pretty easy to call somebody out on their bullshit. Still.. I hope this place doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. So far, so good. I hope. thanks for the greeting.

Ouza, 8|...
I'm not a fucking Otakukin.
But, er, thanks. I think.

Capsha, Heya Cap. Very Happy.

Melari, Thank you for the introduction. Your comments on my friend's topics, and my partner's topic made me extremely interested in talking to you.
Sanity is overrated... there were times I asked myself if I could go back and keep my sanity intact and just live as a normal person. But I feel as if the sacrifice was necessary. I just wish it didn't turn me into a shit-mood when poked too much. Or so see somebody whipping their ass with what I know.
Hmm.. deep down, it really isn't insanity for many of us, its knowledge. While knowing too much can certainly make you a bit... different than everyone else, and they'll call you crazy, it doesn't make you mad. Right..?

It's no problem. As a matter of fact, it's a pleasure to meet you. Oh? Extremely interested in speaking ME? I feel so special! Ha ha! =P

Sanity IS indeed quite overrated. But no, being called "mad" doesn't make automatically make you such.

However, I would like to say that normality is also quite overrated in its own right. As a matter of fact, I believe "normal" to be an imaginary standard created by hunanity because they fear what they do not know or understand.

You know, sometimes I think about how most humans fear death and how some fear that its right around the corner, and then I think about how others never see it coming.

After that, I think about how no one suspects that Death quite literally walks among them, how no one suspects that they may have befriended Death or that they may talk to Death on a regular basis. It's quite the interesting thing to think about. xD

Just felt like sharing that~

Absentee for awhile, but welcome to the board. Must go exploring now to look up some of the mentions in this thread.
