Forum Problems & Update

Hi guys,

as you all know I often work away in the background making sure the forum runs smoothly and try as much as possible to iron out any technical problems as soon as they occur. However, some of you will have noticed that the forum has been having an increasing amount of technical issues recently, ranging from members joining but their application for membership not showing, to some being unable to send or receive pm's.

There has been a planned update but this was going to wait until things became a little quieter, such as over the Christmas period, but I'm afraid this can't wait any longer. Very soon I will close the forum for a short period of time in order to update and resolve all the issues that have cropped up. Unfortunately I will not be able to guarantee the length of time it will be closed... it could be anything from a day to a week or so. But then we will be back, with a new look, working features and new features such as a Facebook page etc.

Please bear with us as we struggle through this transition period, but we will get there and be back stronger and bigger.

Ok, hold on to your hats, grab some popcorn and a good book and get ready........

The forum will close overnight on Thursday 18th September and I am hoping that it will be back live again by Sunday 21st September. This should hopefully give me enough time do all the changes that are needed and make sure the forum is working again properly before it goes live once more.

Please remember that these approximate times are based upon UK GMT time.... and if you try on Sunday and still find the forum is down, don't worry... just listen for the screams of frustration coming from my direction and normal service will be resumed soon after I put my foot through the computer.

As you can see..... we're back!!!  There is still some tinkering to be done... so if anyone has any problems please post here or send me a pm and I'll try to get it sorted as quickly as possible.  I am testing a new chat system... ICQ (I know its been around for years) but if someone knows of a better chat room that is free please let me know.

Many thanks, I'm pleased that from the feedback I have recieved so far it seems everyone likes the new look. There are still a few issues that I need to iron out but I'll be continually working on them and so you probably wont notice much difference.

Post's have not been able to be edited by members for a long time now. This was done so that each member could write a post... think about it carefully... then post it. It's done to prevent rash, abusive posts from being made and then deleted or changed. Everything that is posted on the forum is written for all members to see.

I miss the peacock! I'm down for an image change. Is there something besides the flaming eyeball? I still remember that from the old forum. ..... I prefer the peacock, personally  

The rest of the forum looks very pretty.

Also, isn't that eyeball the symbol of a curse? Here are my image ideas:

Eden, in the desert, as it was or the ruins of it.
A Gateway.
Some of the Shadow.
Some of the Fae :p just kidding, I know this place isn't about us...

Whatever is written up there legitimately feels like fae repellent. Hope it attracts more angels! I really can't stand it. Iron nothing! That stuff *hurts*.  Since you guys seem set on keeping it, which is your right to do of course! I'll... take my cue.

Well, the secret as to what is written is.... the Enochian says "The Shadow of the Fallen Forum." Nothing more. I'm not sure why it's having such an effect on you but it's not meant to make anyone feel uncomfortable.

Enochian magick has always repelled me. I don't know why either. My guess is that it goes against the flow of how we do magick. But we're *made*of magick (not fire), so the disruption just feels fucking painful LOL

I can understand that Enochian magic can feel disruptive to some Races, but the writing isn't magic, it's just text and there was Enochian in the Melek Taus image too.... just not as much. I've always loved this text even from before my awakening. How does everyone else feel about Enochian?

Explaining won't make it hurt less. Really I don't know, just ow, everywhere.

I personally like the enochian writing, it feels "familiar", somehow.I have no problem with it.But esthetically, i liked the peacock more than the new eye.Just my two cents

I have the same thoughts/opinions in terms or the Enochian, but I'd have to say I like the eye better than the peacock. Heh.

Hello all,

Az just wanted to say that I LOVE the new look and recognized the Enochian language right off the bat , it made me smile and I still have a huge grin lol The golden Eye is a fabulous touch. I'm sorry I haven't been on the forum for the past few months, I was talking to Ari'el the other day about how I needed to participate here more. I have not forgotten the forum and the changes it had on me, both good and bad but they were necessary changes that I needed to move on.

I hope everyone is doing ok, keep up the good work my brother, the site is looking great!!
