| Therians, those of you who are of the wolf, the cat, the bird, the fish, and so on... Tell us more of who you are, why you have chosen to pursue your paths in this world. How can therians help the Shadow and how can we all, of every kin type, aid you?
I am interested to meet more of you and learn of our connections and our shared goals as we progress on the paths we sometimes share.

| I agree completely with your thoughts here Ash, and considering my links to the Seir'im, I would like to know more about the work of all Therians in the world today.

| Az correct me if, I'm wrong on this but:
It is sometimes used as an alternative term for a goat, as in (Scapegoat).
The followers of Azazel.... your followers.

| You're almost there Ouza!!
When those in power decreed that the Grigori should not have any link to Humanity other than as rulers and Guides, they decided that the one who began 'relations' with Humans should be punished and made an example to all other Grigori. So, in their wisdom, they opened a portal and threw me off the top of one of the sacred and ceremonial places on the mountain near our City. It was their hope that I would be banished by falling through the portal.... if I survived in any form .... and be a thorn in their side no longer. To add to their ceremony and theater, they chose an animal they could then use to slaughter every anniversary of my 'death' if needs be, as a reminder of my sacrifice for the good of my brothers. They chose a goat. Why, I have no idea, other than it was a handy animal that had no value. This goat they also threw off the mountain with me to also die in the fall.
The portal opened, and both I and the goat hit it at the same time... as well as hitting a very large rock at the same place, and both of us were at the point of physical death. The portal, the energy raised through physical death and the raised awareness of a race of non-physical beings at the opening of a portal into their plane of existence all fused and merged. As you can guess, I'm keeping this very simple, but what resulted was my physical shell was saved and healed by these beings and a strong bond of kin was formed between them and I. As a result of this first meeting, they now appear as a cross between a goat and my original form (half grigori half goat) and have been my allies and some would say followers since that day.
They usually don't get involved in the routine day to day life, and did hold back when it came to the Fall.... but considering the numbers waged against us, they too would have been wiped out .... but are there for me when I need them. So whilst not in theory being true Therian, they still have that side to their nature and can be an enigma at times even to me

| No value? ::makes a face:: I love goats! Better one of them than a sheep, I say.
That's extremely bizarre. Cool, but bizarre. Why do so many punishments seem to wind up worse than the "crime?" (which deserve quotations here, imo)

| The idea of them having no value was their opinion, not ours!!!! And you should see how they look.... better still not to, they can be scary!!!

| Quite a few times I have seen therians turn their backs on their animal nature. It both hurts and confuses me, because I could never imagine pretending that I am not what I am. If I turned my back on the puma, I'd be turning my back on myself and I'd be lost. I choose this path because it is my only path. I will never truly know who I am if I do not accept and embrace myself completely. I don't yet know how all kin can help one another, but of late I, and many other therians I have spoken with, feel a deep need to be around others. It's almost a desperate feeling, and we feel that something very important is going to happen. Also, Az, is it possible for you to tell me more about the Seir'im? I'm very interested and am having issues finding anything about them online that doesn't refer to them as evil spirits. | |

| In the time before goats were very common, as were cats. For some reason cats were revered while goats were considered to have no value at all. No one tried to eat a cat.
Originally I brought across the sea to be a priestess in a cult dedicated to cats. I wasn't a priestess when Dani'el first brought me, of course, I was only 8 years old, but I was groomed to be. I hated it. i hated the work, I hated the cats (although surprisingly they have stayed at my side throughout and I still have two now) and I hated the people who hated me.
Because I was so different in appearance and temperament they all but tortured me. I was called Rose Red because of the colour of my hair and wishglow because of the paleness of my skin and those are only two that have been remembered. There were many many others.
Hmmm not sure why i was suddenly directed to speak about that here because it doesn't really have anything to do with therians.

| Perhaps you'll now have bonds with feline therians? We're a little bit of an odd bunch, and I find it difficult to get along with others within the group. We're very proud and stubborn, but also very affectionate and protective. When it comes to having company or companionship most of us do not find it necessary, and can go without even speaking with another person for quite some time. Many other therians seem to think that feline therians are not exceptionally capable of being loyal and this, I believe, comes from our natural ability to not get attached to others. In reality, when we care for someone, we are incredibly loyal. Even though you may not be very fond of cats, you are apparently bound to us and I personally ( of course ) don't think that such a bad thing. | |

| Oh I absolutely do not think that it's a bad thing. I love cats. I have such an affinity with them.
I shall have to ask Az if there a way I can link to a story I have written in which the lead character is a blend of human, vampire, fey and cat. The cat is very dominant and I found it very very easy to write a character who is human but also strongly cat. i would like to see what you think of it.

| I could write so much about the Ser'im, they are a wonderful, scary, proud, honest, deeply caring and deeply protective Race. Perhaps I should add a section to the website about them.
If you send me the direct link I can add it Ish, would be good to read that.

| Az, your description of the Seir'im remind me of the images of goat demons. I imagine they're probably the same things... and since Azaz'el is often seen as "the Devil" it completely makes sense! I'm sure they're not the "evil demons" people say they are, just as you are not what mythology makes you out to be either. Vi, I absolutely LOVE cats! As a child, I often wanted to be one. Or a hawk lol. I also absolutely had to have cats as pets, damn the fact that I was allergic to them. I eventually got over this allergy too! I know exactly what you mean about cats being solitary, yet loyal to those they care about. | |

| it's funny this thread should come up, my awakening actually began as a therian, a wolf, to be specific. looking back, it was actually pretty funny, i would growl at someone when i was irritated (in fact, i still do!) and the smell of meat would make my mouth water, especially venison.
for me it was a strange sort of feeling, i felt this longing for the outdoors, but being horribly out of shape, i was unable to really explore it... i was without a mentor for much of my awakening though, so i didn't really get to explore that inner wolf before it became lost in the other things slowly surfacing.

| I tend to growl a lot too, Raz. And roar, at times. It was my first obvious clue that I wasn't simply odd, but had something truly different going on.
My awakening was largely kicked off by a short but intimate (and very intense!) relationship with someone I now think was a Tiger therian. Your description sounded so like him, Vi: he had this cuddly but distant quality that always confounded me, and was wholeheartedly convinced he would love the woman he had deemed his mate forever, even though she no longer wanted any contact with him.
I can understand why some people have small collections of kin types they identify with. If I wanted to give a complete list, I could say I'm an angel vampire cat snake bird, and might still be leaving things out! I wonder more and more why that is.

| @Scratch Oddly enough it was, and still is, a wolf who really helped/s me snuggle into my therianthropy. Where as I find it rather difficult to connect with other feline therians, the nearly opposite instinctual personalities of wolf therians, especially my wolf, seem to draw me right it. It's nice to have energy like that around, makes me feel much more like myself | |

| Sounds like a case where opposites attract, Vi. It's a very special thing to have someone you can share all this with, and I'm glad you have that energy around. Seeing how most cats interact with each other, I'm not surprised at all that you get along better with another type than your own. Could you imagine what a herd of you would be like? Slowly but surely, more and more of us are connecting with ourselves and others in very real ways. I hope that if enough of us find each other and start talking, the general population will take us, and spiritual entities in general, more seriously. | |

| Well, I myself am a dog Therian, and tend to have an uncanny understanding of both dogs and cats, oddly enough. However, their wild counterparts, wolves and large felines, completely evade me. I guess I am an urban earthling.
However, I don't think that opposites always attract, or at least, sometimes like-to-like can also get along fine. I am in a relationship with someone who, if not yet an awakened Therian (I will eventually have to bring it up, I am almost certain he is also Therian), obviously has a canine Totem, and a kinship to dogs. Together, we have three dogs, and our pack is in perfect harmony.
Although, I can't imagine five felines being in "harmony" together, I'll give you that. I shudder at the thought of it, actually.

| Well, also being a wolf Therian and knowing two other wolves, I know for a fact that even though canines and felines are different in many aspects, we all THINK similarly, and that's what attracts us to one another. I know for a fact that canines, Therians and actual beings, have unmatched loyalty. They will almost NEVER betray those close to them, and even if they do, have have a reason for it, they will punish themselves and be hard on themselves for it. And I completely agree with you Lawyerr, that many felines attempting harmony is near impossible.
Getting back to what I was saying before...In many cases that have been published, canines taking care of many types of different animals. They care not how others look, they base their likeness or judgement on how the other acts towards them. If they are nice the canine is nice. And vice versa. That's why dogs are man's best friends, they don't judge on simple and petty things like looks, they are attracted to kind beings.
