The Tree Empty
PostSubject: The Tree   The Tree EmptyFri Aug 12, 2011 5:21 pm

Many of my most vivid memories take place under a tree. It had knarled and twisted trunk and branches and soft droopy leaves. It was always cool there.

The tree was set on a little hillock with some scrubby grass. It was just as scrubby and dusty as everywhere else but there was sometimes sweet green grass. In front of the tree was a plateau, about 10 - 15 feet wide and, after that a dizzy drop into a lush green valley. There always seemed to be cool air rising from the valley and it made me feel at the same time calm and lonely for home.

To the right of the tree the foothills of the mountain began in earnest and if you looked higher you could see the white city and the terraces below.

It was my favourite place and where Sem and I usually met. A lot of other people used the tree as a meeting place too so someone has to remember it or a place that feels like it I would think

I remember the valley part of it the most. I remember seeing the mountain. It feels so...daunting when I close my eyes and I can see it clearly. It's as if someone suddenly burned the image into my mind. As I'm typing this, the images are fading in and out of focus. The tree itself was very large. Like if someone asked ne "What do you think Yggdrasil looks like?" the memories of that tree would come to mind first. I walked with some there, a young boy with honey colored hair and curious eyes. Was there a water source there, like a river or a lake?

Dear Lili'el and Wishglow,

I remember it like it was yesterday... and yes there was a fairly large pond fed by an underground river from the melting snow in the mountains not too far away!

Those times were peaceful and full of love/admiration but also used as a place of meetings for others too use for various purposes.

It was a healing place of contemplation and thought as well as love and new beginnings.
