| I'm just beginning to look into symbology and sigils related to the Grigori/Watchers, Nephilim, and other Shadow. I'm curious to know what the sigils and symbols on this site mean, including the significance of the peacock. What are seals, and how are they/were they used? What language was used by the Shadow at the time of the Fall? How does this relate to "true names", if at all? The sigil to the left of the peacock could be god/goddess, but I also saw where it's the Sumerian symbol for Azaz'el... so which is it, Az? I get the city... that's Eden. Everything else is confusing. Any information concerning this topic would be useful to me. I've always had a fascination with symbols and want to know more about them, I just don't know where to start. My timing of this topic is related to my book as I'm trying to develop my own seal for my characters, so any help would be appreciated! Myth | |

| Ahh, Myth, I could explain it all to you, but then I'd have to kill you.
Yes.... that was a joke!!
Melek Taus is the Peacock Angel, the symbol often used for the creation event, linked to the 7 and what could be called the High Council. He was often viewed as the 'God' of the Angels/Shadow, but of course there were many Godforms that we worked with, all representatives of the power of the Source. Some, though, were elevated and ascended beings who were infused by the Source. Others, perhaps Malak Taus was like this, were archetypes formed and created to carry out specific tasks and to retain the essence of all that we were.
Malak Taus is an enigma to most, overlooked by many, but a strong messenger to us all when the time is right.

| Okay, I finally got around to looking up Melek Taus and I had an "ah ha" moment. Now I'm feeling dumb... and still confused as to who he is and what role he plays in the hierarchy of the Malakhim. What I found says he's everyone from Lucifer, Satan, and/or Azaz'el... which explains the symbol I pointed out with your name. Was he really a redeemed fallen angel? Your explanation, Az, confuses me so maybe that means I need to set it aside for now until I have more clarity. But I'm still thinking about it. Still interested in the meanings of the sigils. I also found this link on signs/seals/symbols: http://www.signsandsymbols.net/index.shtml I like the "feel" of this site. Some websites make me feel uncomfortable, but this one doesn't. Myth | |

| Maybe Razi'el should jump in here and let us know what he remembers from the time of Metatron and if he did write the book of Enoch!! What I can say without his permission is that we all know his love of books and of gathering knowledge. As for confusing you over Melek Taus, I didn't mean to. Melek is a god form, an archetype, a power and energy that was created by, through, because of and after the creation event by the 7. He represents all of the 7 and so acts as an Ark as well as a library, a reliquary and a messenger and in some rare occasions, a saviour. He is all of us, yet he is independant and stands alone. As for the symbol............... now, isn't that a coincidence!!! Az | |

| I wonder where Razi'el is... and I wonder what he'd say to his claim-to-fame. That was a new one on me, so I thought I'd share. - Quote :

Ever the enigma, Az. You are (twisted), but I love you anyway. Why did you choose the symbol of Melek Taus for the website? Was that one of the reasons? I get who he is (I think) but I'm still confused as to why it's the banner for the forum. What symbolism are you trying to convey, hmm...? Care to explain? (And is there any way to change the default color font for quotes to white so they can actually be read without eye strain? Doing the html is time consuming!) Myth | |

| Oops, I thought I had eplied to this one!
I chose the symbol for Malak Taus as the symbo for this website for two reasons. The first one was simply for a change.... the old website was symbolised by the eye, a symbol that was quite profound to what we're all about and the Gateways that have crumbled or are currently crumbling. So, a new home for the forum, a new symbol.
The second reason is that Melek Taus was a symbol, a spiritual concept and being that all Grigori are familiar with. He is the pinnacle of all we are, were and can be, he is the highest attainment that can be achieved by us all. He also represents our link to the Source, and our link to creation and the 7 that, I believe, highlights how much we belong to the ranks of Shadow and therefore we should be reunited with our Kin.
As for the yucky colour of the quotes..... let me see what I can do.

| hmm, well, i honestly don't have much of a timeline set up form the Old Times, so i can't rightly say i know much about the time of the metatron, but aas for righting the book of enoch... i vaguely remember giving something to a young man with dark, curly hair and telling him to guard it with his life... i think it might have been him... but anyway, the only real things i can remember having done is the few i have already voiced, as well as maybe enjoying a hot bath or two alone. not wuite sure how relevant that is, but i'll leave it there | |

| Don't worry about the spelling Raz, half the time I type too fast and end up missing letters off words .... We can just pretend it's an ancient form of Shadow writing and hope someone believes us!! Az | |
