Just a thought,

Something is definitely affecting us all as we come into a new age and to the end of an old calendar!
Perhaps we aren't seeing things as it truly are and are ending up personalizing the whole thing as our own.

Sometimes we have to step back often reluctantly in order to further get an overall perspective of our every day thoughts, words and deeds.
