Hello.

Hello my name is Edward. I guess ill make a little bio here about myself. I was raised a catholic and started to question religion and all that, met up with some vampires. Who kinda opened the door for me into other religions and astral travel and all that jazz. As I got to know many otherkin friends, and I started to worship an egyptian deity named Anubis, my spiritual senses grew stronger, and I could tell which species of otherkin a person was, and what type of magic they practiced... and some other stuff.

I met a spirit named Victavious, who was a demon, and he taught me how to use the dark side of the force, I guess you could say. Anywho, all that led me into some really dark and depressing areas of my life, until I decided to became a Christian. My spiritual senses have changed.. now I can only sense that which is inside myself, instead of that which is outside, like other people and what not.

Anyway, I dont practice magic, or do astral stuff anymore, or speaks with demons. However, I kinda miss the friends I had. So basically Ive come here to gain friendship, and observe things. If thats alright with you. *bows*

Well im alittle weary of thinking of myself as otherkin, im not quite sure about it... I dont believe theres anything in the bible about it, besides the nephilim and the fallen watchers. And then theres the Book of Enoch, however that is a non canonical book. If you read it it says the nephilim, after they die, are like demons on the earth, tempting and tormenting people in the spirit.

So, I guess, ill ask, what are you opinions on that? If you are christian and read the bible and stuff, does it have anywhere, where it says anything about otherkin?

And I was curious, how are your views on spiritually shape shifting, like making ones self a dragon, and then an elf, or a vampire, in the spirit. Because thats what I used to do, Is there a particular kin that has no real defined shape?

Forgive me if these questions are address in the forum in other places, I have not yet read much.

Otherkin typically applies to one who was something other than human in a previous life. many of us here were of the Shadow, something akin to the way the Bible describes Angels to be. however, a number of us have been dragons, and you'll find a few Fey here as well, our own Dream's End, for example (she's the Head Moderator). If you've been anything from an animal, a plant, a Fey, an Angelic or Demonic spirit, any of that can be classified as Otherkin.

I myself used to be Christian, and lived by those rules, though i eventually found myself exploring other religious systems out of curiosity, until i found a belief i called my own, a mix of some Wiccan and other Pagan beliefs, as well as some Shamanic practices. This all coincided with my journey to understand who and what i was, my Awakening, as a number of Kin call it. of course, it's still ongoing, and i'm always learning more.

A plant? ... I've never heard of anyone being a plant before.

neither have i, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened ^-^

as far as shapeshifting goes, i find it fun to try different shapes on, spiritually! and i also find it's a great way to master your own energy.

So do you think im just a human?

My past otherkin friends would tell me that I were of so and so species.

But then I realized, that I mirrored their own energy back to them, or took on that particular flavor.

Im not so in tune with the spirit like that anymore though, so ive kinda lost those abilities....

You guys wouldnt be able to like.. i dunno sense me or whatever and tell me what kind of flavor I am, would you?

I realize something like this, must be found out by oneself.

I hope you will feel welcome here and will keep asking any questions you might have regarding who and what we are and what we're all about.

As you have guessed, unfortunately no one can tell you what you are, if you are Human, Kin or anything else. This isn't a cop-out, but the fact that only you have access to your own soul and so only you can understand what it is at its core. It doesn't matter what Race you belong to, or what link if any you have to the Shadow or Kin... if anyone feels drawn to this forum and joins, they are more than welcome to become a member of our online community and share their thoughts and opinions.

You mentioned about there being no mention in the Bible of Otherkin. The reason for this comes in two parts. First, as you will probably be aware, the Bible was heavily edited at the first Council of Nicea in 325 and from this, with the development of the Nicene Creed, much that deal with non-human beings was removed from the bible... you only have to scan through the Apocrypha to get an idea of this. The second reason is that much of what the bible deals with pertains only to the core beliefs of the Christian tradition. So anything that is non human generally gets named demonic or satanic, with little specific refernces as to what they were or looked like. The only reason the Grigori and Shadow are mentioned is because of our political and economical welfare in the middle east during the early developmental stages of the first biblical mythology and pantheon.

The whole history of the Shadow, from the Morning Star, the Seven, the Grigori and the settlements in Europe, the middle east and Kharsag, and the Fall, is not confined to the Christian tradition. We were above and beyond any one spiritual tradition and system. But as I said earlier, because of our links in the middle east, our histories were included in early christian traditions, as well as Babylonian mythology, sumerian history, and many other spiritual systems around the world.

As for shape shifting, well, it exists and takes place. Generally these days it is less liekly to happen on a physical level, and occur more on a spiritual/energy level. All those who were born of Shadow could manifest into whatever shape or form they wished, as our corporeal form was not fixed as it was for other, manifest beings. So as for there being any Kin that has no defined shape.... usually they were the Shadow.

Well, all of that is indeed fascinating. And Im glad you dont mind my questioning. Ive always been the curious type, and ask alot of questions, Sometimes, its to the burden of those in which I ask.

This thing about the Shadow is interesting. I personally would absolutely love it if it were true, im not saying its not, but how exactly could I say that it definitely is? The only thing I know for certain is of the Lord Jesus and the Father and Holy Spirit, these things, I pray will never change in me.

Ive always been drawn to the darker side of things....

Im not sure if this has any meaning but in my old pagan days I once had a voice whisper to me, in my slumber, that I was the leader of the magi.

So if that means anything to you, id like to hear it.

The answer that you probably wont want to hear is that the only way to know if you have any link to Shadow or indeed are one is through time.......... through experience, understanding, research, questioning and time. Sometimes memories can come to the surface, sometimes it can be just a knowing. It can different for each person and again, only you can come to know the answer. But you will know it, given time.

As for the Magi, to the best of my knowledge they were all Human but as they really came together into a coherent group after my Fall, I can't be certain.

In the end, no matter what anyone says or suggests, you will know the truth about your own soul, and no one can change that or take that from you. And knowledge of who or what you are won't change your beliefs or spirituality, perhaps just make it stronger.

I let my old otherkin friends tell me who I was, and it led me into a lot of pain and confusion... telling me that this spirit named victavious was a previous self of mine.... he fancied himself a king of vampires and demons... but yet no one heard of his name. So, I think he was just there to use me... he wanted me to merge with him, I think he merely wanted to possess my body.... what wretchedness...

We are bound by choice and change. As you say mirroring and actually knowing for a fact are indeed two different things! I was answering your question.. Who was the leader of the Magi? Daniel. Not implying as others would think that that is a suggestion as to who you really are. Only you can answer that but it is these small flashes of insights that guide and lead us to where the answer may or may not be found.

Discernment is your key and to gain perspective takes time and seems to be all that we have is time!

I'm not sure if Ouza is talking about the same person as I am here, but Dani'el was one of the Shadow and one who had a very strong connection to me. He was my love, my life and my reason to exist...... there has been a lot written about him on the Website as well as in many different threads here in the forum. I'm sure as you read through past posts you will come across his name and some of the information about him.

As for time being all we have Ouza........ there was a time when I would have disagreed, but not now. Time is all that seems to be in plentyful supply these days!

As Az said, no one but you can tell you who or what you are. I could add something about how that identity may take different shapes/forms/manifestations, aside from ability to shape-shift. I know mine did, and after almost 10 years devoted to figuring this all out, I'm still continually amazed at how impressions I had dismissed as confusion or mistakes find ways to weave into the larger picture after all. I thought I was a vampire before I felt my wings, and had dismissed the notion, until reading chunks of a book which described several things I didn't understand about myself, so they suddenly felt explained. There does seem to be a close link between vamps and angels somehow, which may not be mutually exclusive.

We work together here to explore memories of a distant past, and provide a safe, sane place to share experiences and feelings for which otherwise there are few outlets. I think the most important thing to remember is that this is all a process of discovering ourselves. I hope you find the answers, and friends, you're looking for.

I find your description about mirroring others interesting. I've done that myself sometimes. I also have memories and feelings from other lives about changing shape in order to better communicate with whatever race or creature I was dealing with.
Sounds like you've had some interesting, scary, and dark times spiritually. I had some a little like that in high school, so I know the feeling, and I understand why you'd go back to Christianity, and only focus on yourself spiritually instead of everyone and everything else. These spiritual type things can be dangerous if one is not careful, but they can also be profound, amazing, enlightening, and full of love, protection, and other good things.
Since you asked about religion... I'm not Christian, and never have been. I used to practice something that was somewhat like Hinduism, but now it's more of a mix-and-match. Actually, most of the time I just go with whatever feels right, and if it happens to coincide with some existing religious path, then cool! Otherkin or anything like that really didn't exist in the religion I grew up in either, and, like you, I tried to reason with that and wondered if being otherkin was even possible or accepted since nothing like it was mentioned in the scriptures. I never really found out what they thought of the idea though.
Anyway, I'm glad you've decided to join the forum and I hope we can answer more of your questions, and hopefully help you along the process of figuring yourself out

So ive been reading through the boards, only a few threads, thus far. Something about the Seven, and Michael betraying people and all that.

And I remembered a name that came to me months before.. Seri'el ... I believe.

But I suddenly received this feeling, that im not part of the Shadow. That I am something other then the Shadow, however I had no real form, I was more like an energy.

I also had a vision of an angel who loved battle, very vicious, with his wings the color of red.
