PostSubject: Greetings from the Grim Reaper (or rather who a human might address as such)   Tue Apr 03, 2012 10:31 pm

Hello...

My position is a... little hard to believe.

... Okay, maybe a bit more than a little. *sigh*

I've honestly been fortunate enough to never experience the harsh words of the narrowminded, but one never knows what could happen in a new place. That isn't to say that I believe anyone here to be narrowminded, so I apologize if I come off that way.

Well, here goes...

I am not an angel or a demon, nor am I a goddess or a devil. I am something called a Keeper, an agent of the being I believe to be the Source that directly plays a role in maintaining the Multiversal balance. There is a hierarchy of Keepers, ranging from one that is in charge of the Multiverse in general to ones that rule over planets, and even at that level the hierarchy splits. I am part of what is known as a planetary Trinity: the Birthkeeper, Lifekeeper, and Deathkeeper.

... I am the Deathkeeper.

It is basically my job—under normal circumstances, at least—to assist in maintaining the Balance directly through the ending of lives. Under my jurisdiction" or "command" would be FAR more fitting—are angels (angels that specifically serve Keepers are called—to my recollection—"Jureiisix") known as the Necrolim, angels of death. They are both loyal and trusted servants, and fellow fighters when a battle breaks out.

Some Keepers look completely humanoid, while others have some animalistic traits. I am the latter type; my features are of an Edenic ligeress (a female Edenic liger, of course).

Now that that's out of the way, do I expect or want to be worshipped? No.

Do I expect or want anyone here singing my praises or anything like that? Absolutely NOT.

I don't believe myself to inherently any better or any worse than anyone else. Especially not while we inhabit these human shells. Will this attitude change when I'm back to my true self? I honestly don't think so.

Finally, I understand that most of what I've said probably conflicts with what angels traditionally believe, but if I'm incorrect in any way, then I apologize; I'm basing this assumption upon a stereotype. In any case, what I've said is based mostly upon what I remember, and also what I know of myself.

Greetings and welcome to the forum, Melari

I hope you enjoy your time here in our forum and soon realise that many of s at one time or another have felt a little reticent about saying what we feel or think or know....... just in case someone thinks we're nuts. But you'll soon come to realise that all of us here are far more open minded than in many other forums. Whilst not everyone may agree with all you may ever say, all members will respect your views.... they may question them ... but will always respect them. In the end, no one here has all the answers, if we did we simply wouldn't be here in Human form still, but we all have our own truths, and in this forum we are all interested in discovering the areas where our knowledge can blend and merge.

I'm curious that you mention angels that serve Keepers. DO you have any knowledge or memory as to what Rank these angels are?

Az

Thanks, Az! It seems that I have some very good luck with choosing the forums I go on. =)

In terms of the ranks of angels that serve Keepers, I can only remember the ones that serve the Trinity. Archangels serve the Birthkeeper, my brother—usually called "God" by Humankind. Seraphim serve the Lifekeeper, the Birthkeeper's wife and who could be called my sister-in-law. And then I remember the Necrolim being a rank of angel all their own rather than a subclass, and I remember them serving me, the Deathkeeper.

While you're here, would you happen to know if there's an angel by the name of Lururiel? I know there are two high ranking Necrolim who serve me. I'm PRETTY sure Azrael is one of them, and then I think the other's name is Lururiel, but I'm honestly not sure... That's the name that comes up though. *shrugs*

Welcome Melari

Nice to meet you and thanks for the indepth intro Smile I found it really interesting. I've met a couple of Shiva incarnations recently and as you may be familiar with, the Hindu trinity has the same sort of.. um... paradigm as the Keepers seem to have. Brahma being the one who births, Vishnu being the one who maintains, and Shiva being the one who destroys. And then they are said to have their male and female aspects.

On another note of personal interest I knew and am searching for Azra'el. I'd love if you could share your memories of him.

Like Az says we all have the Truth and the fun part is seeing where it blends.

Welcome to the forum!
I'm Capsha, or Haniel, whatever's good. An archangel principality.
It's nice to meet another reaper. My fiance is like you Smile He just doesn't talk about it much. Hopefully I can learn things from you! His memories are a little dark but I find them fascinating. I also have memories of Azrael so it could be intersting to get to know you more. One of my friends was an apprentice to him.

Anyways, enjoy your stay here. I'm new myself but settling in hasn't been a problem so far I love you

Dear Melari:

You'll find out that here on this forum we are all in fact horses of a different color!

I hope that you take this opportunity to better broaden and understand your your purpose here on earth and the inner spiritual awareness that comes with that!

We all here are living out our role for all to see and to hopefully and understand that we are not in fact bonkers but honest individuals with a positive intent to bring awareness to others on their own paths to Self Awareness.

Hope that you take the time to read the past postings! And don't forget to bring along the chocolate, which is for strictly for medicinal purposes!

lol! Ouza Like a Star @ heaven

@Ash

It's nice to meet you too. =)

Honestly, I hadn't even thought about the similarities the Hindu Trinity has to the planetary Trinity. Though there's more than just the Trinity ruling each planet with a sentient species, from what I remember; there are also five Elementals, Keepers who have domain and maintain the Balance over and using—surprise!—the elements! There is an Airkeeper, a Waterkeeper, an Earthkeeper, and two Firekeepers.

Unfortunately, most of the few memories I have revolve around the things I've said, along with a few memories of my lover, the Earthkeeper.

However, if there's one thing that I remember about Azrael, it's that out of the Necrolim who served me, he was one of the two who I could trust with ANYTHING. If there was something that I knew that one would normally not tell a subordinate, Azrael—and the other Necrol (I think that would be the singular form of Necrolim) who I can only remember as Lururiel—was the one I would entrust with said information. In other words, I remember trusting him a GREAT deal.

@Haniel

It's lovely to meet an archangel, Haniel! ^^ So your fiance is an angel of death? That's... It's actually very comforting to know that I'm not the only reaper here. =)

Again, I don't really have TOO many memories, but I'll share one with you about my lover since you mentioned that the memories your fiance shared with you are—as you put it—dark:

During my first appearance on Earth—I wasn't quite your average mortal being, but was mortal all the same—I was murdered by a malicious man. My lover was so distraught and utterly enraged when he saw this happen that he appeared to the man and... tortured him in an act of vengeance... My lover sliced open the man's belly and pulled out his attached entrails, then... he... well, ordered the man to eat them while they were still in his body...

... The man did as he was told; he was forced to.

My lover, however, felt a deep regret and a disgust towards himself afterwards. He wasn't at all proud of what he had done.

This memory is actually pretty recent, and it's not exactly mine... Keepers within the same system (planet, galaxy, etc.) seem to have a sort of collective consciousness in which memories can be shared at will. That's pretty much how I know of what happened though I wasn't there to see it.

Admittedly though, it haunts me from time to time, knowing that he once did something so cruel. I harbor no ill will or anger towards him for it, but it's just so chilling...

@Ouza

Why thank you! And I'll be sure to! Thanks for the chocolate! Oh... medical purposes... Yeah, sure... *sneaks a bite*

I apologize for the double post, but I can't figure out how to edit posts here! ^^"

I know I said that Keepers in general within the same system probably have a sort of collective consciousness, but that's incorrect. I remembered that bit of information incorrectly.

It actually seems that when two Keepers are lovers, THEY share that special sort of collective consciousness through their bond. It only makes sense. I haven't had memories that weren't my own from anyone other than my lover, and even those are pretty few. I apologize for the mix-up. I was only thinking of part of it, and fit an incorrect piece into the puzzle, if you know what I mean. ^^"

That was a bit awkward...

He wasn't so much an angel as just... an experimental soul collector. He found it hard to take people's lives (or taking their souls) when the people weren't ready. They'd run, scream, beg... Yeah. I'm not surprised he doesn't remember much. Or won't remember. That memory of yours sounds horrible, though. Was it a lover in a past life or do you still know him in this life? Sometimes I get memories that aren't mine and I have no CLUE who's they are. It's rather annoying!

@Capsha

The lover is actually my soulmate. He's not incarnated on Earth, but is waiting for me in the home realm of Earth's Keepers, which I believe to be Eden. I really miss him, to be honest...

... It's kinda how Keepers operate: an event may need to happen or be happening that will destroy lives, whether it be one or many, whether it be through death or other means... We may be a neutral party, but we don't necessarily WANT to do some of the things that need to be done to keep the Balance in check...

Both good AND bad things need to happen in a balanced manner.

Let's say a little girl is across the street, running away from a rapist. A car is coming and it's a close shave as to whether or not it will hit the rapist when he tries to cross. We have to decide: can the Balance handle it if the rapist gets run over and the girl is safe, or does she need to be raped to keep the Balance in check...?

If needed, well... that girl would be getting raped...

It may sound extreme, but it's actually a very realistic example. It's not easy to decide who gets to go on safely and who has to suffer...

It makes us sound like monsters, but we're just doing what has to be done. >_<

I personally have no memories of the reaper aspect of my job, but I'm sure they'll come soon enough.

Thanks for sharing that. I do think that Azra'el was very trustworthy. He never went back on a promise, or a vow, and he held secrets dearer than his own life.

Welcome to the forum.

I find this particularly fascinating as it is completely new to me.

It makes perfect sense.

Balance is a strange thing. People pay lip service to accepting that balance is a good thing whilst having in their minds that it is all about good.

I would consider you to be entirely neutral, neither good nor bad, neither monster not god. Absolute impartiality is essential for any balance keeper.

Forgive me if I giggle, but I just can't get the idea of Pratchett's Death of the Discworld in my head. You dont happen to have a fondness for kittens do you?

@Ash

You're very welcome. I'm more than glad to share whatever I can remember (as long as I can make it SFW (a few of my memories... er... relate to bedroom activities, if you know what I mean), since - as you mentioned in another thread - this forum isn't age-restricted).

@Ish

Thank you very much for your welcome (ha ha! Put THAT on a shirt and sell it!)!

Yes, humans seem to have the idea that Balance has to everything to do with "good", when in reality, it is a harmony between Order and Chaos, more commonly referred to as "good" and "bad" respectively.

And again, you are correct: Keepers are completely impartial in their actions. Being impartial is incredibly difficult though. We all have our own thoughts and feelings on the actions which we must either perform or let happen. However, we have a duty, and it's a duty that cannot be ignored. We can have opinions, but we cannot let them affect our decisions; the Balance HAS to be maintained. We cannot let hesitation or bias affect our actions, as difficult as it may be. It's actually relatively very easy for a Keeper to do this though; we know what we have to do, and we know what's important; it's all truly for the best. We deal with our emotions afterwards.

Admittedly though, being raised as a human for nineteen years from what could basically be considered a blank slate, has made it very difficult to fully return to the whole concept of Order and Chaos as opposed to good and bad. My upbringing in this incarnation has made it difficult at times to see every action that occurs as a necessity, though I know this to be the truth. But I know that I'll be able to fully embrace what I know once more once I return to my true self.

Kittens, you say? Not just kittens; I absolutely LOVE all cats! Both young and old~ :3 I am part cat, after all, as I mentioned earlier. Ha ha!

Oh, naughty, naughty! XD

No, no. I can assure you that the only memory I currently have of Azrael is the one I mentioned about his trustworthiness. The er... bedroom-type memories relate to myself and my soulmate, the Earthkeeper. I'm actually pretty open about these matters, so if you truly would like to hear, I'd be more than glad to share my memories of the more risque topic, though they really don't get TOO off-the-chart. x3

Ahh... I apologize for that... Wasn't sure that one post in the other thread would matter TOO much, if you're referring to it. That's actually a VERY good idea... *slightly embarassed* But yeah, we probably don't want to riddle with certain images the minds of those who REALLY don't desire it. ^^"

Hello, Melari. Smile

I am and have been many things, but originally I was/am something that seems very similar to your Keepers, perhaps even the same. Though I have different words for it. Do you remember anything about Keepers of Light and Dark? Probably above the planetary level, I feel.

Also, as I was reading through this topic, my dragon self came up. First flicking my tail back and forth in interest, then started kneading my claws like a happy cat and even started purring! ^.=.^ lol

Hello, Ari'el. ^^

I honestly wouldn't remember anything about the Lightkeeper or the Darknesskeeper other than that they ARE indeed above the planetary level.

Reading about your dragon self acting like a cat got me purring and meowing. Heh heh~ x3

Hehe kitty :3

Hmm... So let me try to explain my thing and see if it aligns with your Keepers at all. I personally believe that the Source is everywhere and within all things. Let's say that the multiverse is the Source's body. There are Aspects of the multiverse, basically differentiated aspects of the Source, like an arm or an immune system in the body, that perform certain tasks. For example, light, dark, death, life, and so forth. I call them Aspects. I used to use the word 'Arohim' for them, but that may just be a word that applies to me personally, haven't quite figured it out.
I believe I am the Aspect of Light. I vaguely remember traveling through the multiverse before coming to this universe at it's very beginning. I think Darkness was here just before Light. I know, it probably seems far-out but it's what I feel and remember. My form could be anything, I'm sure, but in this life I mostly see that aspect of myself as a humanoid female that is composed entirely of condensed white light. Her hair and robes flowing as though there is a breeze.
As far as a 'hierarchy', I see us all as equal, just with different but equally important tasks. But in order of appearing in this Universe, if my memory serves, it was Darkness, Light, then a bunch of Elements and other things in unknown order. I feel each of these may have split into smaller and smaller sub units until you get to those at the planetary level. I don't know or remember much about the planetary level ones because I think I was mostly focused on the larger scale.

Sorry for taking so long to reply to your post, Ari'el. I've just been dragging my feet about it. ^^"

In any case, the way you see Keepers and the way I see them/us is very similar. My view of Keepers is that we are agents of the Source. We are assigned different roles, and those roles performed together keep the Multiverse in a state of Balanced Harmony. We ARE mostly equal, I believe; any hierarchy in general mostly serves only to differentitate between different levels of Keeper (Planetary, Galactical, Universal), though according to one of the two Universekeepers (who is currently incarnated here, and who I actually know on another Kin forum) of this Universe, there are Head Keepers, I don't remember quite how she described them, but they, from what I can think of, give orders to Keepers of their respective responsibility when ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Most often, nobody has to be ordered around; we just KNOW when we have to do something, and are free to do whatever else otherwise. As a matter of fact, if we're ordered to do something by a Head, it's SERIOUS because it would likely entail something not in the "job description" (we're normally in charge of only a single planet or a single galaxy or whatever, depending on the grouping of Keepers).

I remember hierarchy on the planetary level being a BIT different though, at least on Earth. I remember the Trinity being at the very top, with the Birthkeeper, my brother Seraakeu being the de facto leader, though he was more like a tie-breaker vote, if anything when it came to making decisions. We do agree though that we look up to him as our "leader". His wife and I, his sister, are co-leaders, ruling alongside him. The five Elementals are JUST below the Trinity; it's a hardly noticeable difference. The only REAL difference is in social interactions which would involve the Elementals normally addressing the Trinity more formally, but even THAT could EASILY be overlooked if that Elemental was any sort of friend (or more than that) to the member of the Trinity in question. The hierarchial difference is so slight that that's pretty much the ONLY difference; every Keeper is equal otherwise.

I hope that answers your question! ^^
