ARCHIVE: Music recommendations, Share and spread the love <3

This is intended to be a thread where everyone can share the music they like, for whatever reason. It can be a song whose lyrics have stirred your soul, or something in which the melody haunted you, or a tune to which you love to dance... anything. Feel free to share - you can explain why you love it, or you can just leave a link or the name/title.

Now filesharing won't be the way to go, but there's always youtube. Or if the song you'd like to share isn't there, name the artist and the song so others can look it up.

If you think the idea sucks, feel free to say so - or to ignore the topic - or I'll just end up dumping my newfound musical discoveries here, if all else fails. ;-)

I'll start. And I'll share a song by Antimatter, its live acoustic version. Leaving Eden [user posted link at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoX7kBEbawI ] is a song from Antimatter's latest album. Okay. The simplest way is to go to youtube, search for a video of the song you want to share, then copy the link from the url bar and paste it here. You can just paste it as it is without any code, it will work.

Or you can use the link button above the text box (http://) and paste/type it there. It will then make the kind of link I had in my post.

I like music... a lot. To the point of obsession (with how it makes me feel, and how it sounds, and performing it... I love to freaking sing. ;___; ) so it's probably better if I just link to where I listed songs before, as opposed to getting into thinking about which songs I like and want to post here. I'll end up on Youtube, for hours, I am not kidding laugh.gif .... most of those are still really important/lovely to me.

Another one of my favorite artists I'm going to share with you is Lisa Gerrard. Her voice is way up there on my list of the most haunting things ever born into the universe. This one is from the Gladiator soundtrack. Now We Are Free [user posted link at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhD7vbFcii8 ] is just an example, the entire OST is just glorious.

Evanescence
Panic! At the Disco
Blaqk Audio

I also like Libby Schraeder but she's more of an underground type of artist. She does have a myspace.

Oh, and the Twilight Soundtrack is pretty awesome, as is the soundtrack and score from The Crow.

Man, I can't pick lol. With AFI if you like more hardcore screamy punk stuff, go for their older music, if you like more rockish gothish rock type stuff, go for their newer stuff. All of their stuff is pretty awesome, though, and I love their lyrics.

Blaqk Audio only has one album...all of it is good. My favorite song is "Semiotic Love," however.

Evanescence...yeah I can't pick a favorite song.

Panic! Well, both albums are good, but my favorite songs arel "Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" and "When the day met the night" oh and "Pas de Chaval".

Death Cab..I only have their first or second album, but I keep meaning to buy more. I have the song "I will follow you into the dark" on my computer and I love it.

The Crow Soundtrack/Score...I like "Burn" by The Cure a lot.

All in all I really can't choose beyond that lol I like all of it.
