Question time! Empty
PostSubject: Question time!   Question time! EmptyTue Jul 19, 2011 2:44 pm

I hope this is in the right section >.<

I would like to know about vampires/vampyres. I have read the other topics but now I'm even more curious and I didn't want to just take over someone else's topic with my silly questions.
I'll be honest, I've tried to avoid vampires for a long time now, (lets say some dreams/memories have flashed before me and I remember them again) and I'm even struggling to write this but I shall try while chilling out to some music!

I've read so much stuff on vampires when I was little but most of it's faded from my memory. I remember Inheritors, classics but that is about it.

I would like to know what exactly do you's know?
What is a 'vampire' exactly? How does it come around? I use to think they were linked to Fallen or something but I'm unsure lol.
What do they look like exactly? Normal humans or do they have some appearance traits that show their differences?
Are they born and made or just born?
Are there different types of vampires?
I could go the whole mile and ask the really silly questions such as: Fangs; do they have them?; Sunlight; how does it affect them; Blood, do they drink blood or do the prefer to feed from peoples energy and no ingest blood?
Do they get sick?

I'm sorry to pester you all with my really dumb looking questions (I feel they are dumb because I *feel* like I should know all this) and I feel like real idiot for even asking >.<
I'll be grateful for any information. Smile

Question time! Empty
PostSubject: Re: Question time!   Question time! EmptyWed Jul 20, 2011 4:53 pm

This is MY opinion, my knowledge. because I believe it is true doesn not make it true and others might have different opinions. Hopefully, if they do there can be a lively debate.

1. Vampires are non human souls trapped/reborn/contained within a human body. THe human body does not provide sufficient and correct sustenance for the vampire soul and so it has to take in additional energy. There are three ways it can take in energy... from living blood, from elemental forces such as storms etc and from the auras/energy of other human beings. Weres are simiar only the body is shared between a human soul and that of an animal

2. There are three kinds of vampires. Sanguinarians (sangs) only take blood. Psychic (psi's) ongly take energy from elementals/humans. Hybrids do both.

3. Vampires are born and not made. Vampires generally do not know they are vampires until they 'awaken' This often happens during puberty but can be much later. During awakening you gradually become aware of your nature. Most vampirs have already noticed that there is something different about them and many have gone through trauma because of it. Often the feelings of disassociation, depression, dispondancy, restlessness, tiredness, anxiety etc get worse during awakening but settle when the vampire become more aware of what and why they are. Awakening takes different forms from person to person.

4. I believe that the reason some people believe they have been 'changed' by the bite of a vampire is that when bitten the saliva of the vampire goes into the wound as well as the vampire energy and this triggers awakening in latent vampires.

5. The only physical difference we have identified are slightly elongated canines, changing eye colour, stronger and faster growing hair and nails, increased rate of healing. Tendency to 'see someone different' on looking in a mirror. WE DO NOT SPARKLE except in our sparkling wit and personality.

6. Because they are born into human bodies vampires age, grow and get sick just like anyone else.

7. Whether vampires like garlic or not depends on the individual, just like everyone else. I LOVE it. The garlic myth derives from the fact that garlic is a purifier and it was beleived that vampires are unclean and undead and therefore fear purification... same thing with holy water.

8. Most vampires burn easily and many have a sensitivity to sunlight... so we do burn :p Personally I burn at the first exposure to sunlight and wear sleeves whenever I can in the summer. I never tan... I burn I peel I go back to being pale. I have a terrible sensitivity. When I go out in even moderately bright weather, even in the winter, I have to wear sunglasses, I get ill when I'm in the sun.. headaches, faintness, weakness etc.

I think that covers most of your basis. Anything else you need to know ask. Although I stress again... THIS IS MY OPINION

Oh if a debate is sparked....that would be interesting as long as its civilised! ^^ Somehow I get the images of people in tops hats...Okay I definitely need more sleep now.

I understand this is your opinion and I thank you for replying =)

Your first point I understand completely. Mmmm storm energy...feels sparky and delicious.
I always had this image of a trapped soul which would then alter the body to suit its needs, I guess that would be something similar to an awakening?
*shudders* Sorry but the image of being bitten then saliva...I am OCD when it comes to being clean...to me that is a nightmare. Though that explanation does make sense, I mean it could explain on why people feel that being bitten has turned them into a vampire.
Thank god you's only sparkle in your personality and wit, otherwise...you'd have to hid constantly from fangirls/fanboys or keep them away with a stick...
Changing eye colour is it subtle, say from brown to black? Or not so subtle?
Fast growing hair...I wish I had that, I really need it after a really bad hair cut (-_-)
I know how you feel when it comes to sunlight though! I can't go out in it, I burn and blister and I get ill and just want to hide a cool shaded area.

Were they ever something...more? Did they ever have a body of their own? Maybe in another time or where they always in a human body?

Again I'm grateful for your reply and I hope my reply makes sense Smile

Yes, it does. Smile

Lets get one thing very clear, in my experience real vampires only feed from willing donors. Because the experience is very intense and sensual they are usual sexual partners. There is also the danger of blood bourne illnesses like AIDS and Hepatitus so we have to be VERY careful when we pick our donors and it's something that is drummed into young ones. Be safe is the first rule.

Changing eye colour can be subtle or startling. Mine turn from green to kind of a caramel / orange.

My belief is that vampires are the descendents of nephylim so yeah, there was a time when they were free and had their own form. it would be a hellish twist wouldn't it if they, who got into trouble in the first place because of forbidden union with humans were doomed to live within human bodies.

I strongly advise you to read a book called "Vampires, The Occult Truth" written by a man called Konstantinos.

I have heard of the book and the writer before. I have never read it or anything by him and that's deliberate.

It's not that I would diss the book... I haven't read it... or the author... I haven't read anything by him... It's the name Konstantine or any version of it. It makes me shudder to the depths of my being and i don't think I could trust anyone using that name, especially in connection with vampires.

I knew a Konstantine and I've hated him and the name ever since.
