PostSubject: Partial memory of a training session   Sun Oct 07, 2012 7:13 pm

I had this funny little memory recently in which I was leading a Wardancing training session with the Necrolim. There was a heavy straw-filled dummy hanging from a few feet above the ground from a rope on the ceiling of whatever building we were in. The building looked like an otherwise empty wooden barn or something similar with the large floor space padded with hay.

I was explaining the importance of knowing when to, and of being careful WHEN you jump or lift both feet off of the ground for ANY period of time.

"So," I had said. "If there's ANYTHING I want you all to remember." I was walking down the large space of the building towards the Necrolim as I spoke, and I stopped when I was to the dummy's right. My scythe was in its dagger form. "It's that your feet are your balance and your stability. ALWAYS be careful when lifting both of your feet off of the ground. When you lift both of your feet off of the ground, you have no leverage, and when you have no leverage, you will be ill-equipped to counter or even to respond to your enemy's attacks. If your timing is even the slightest bit off," I continued. "Your opponent will be able to knock you back." Without looking at the dummy, I gave it a good hit in the gut area with my elbow. "Get in a good hit." Then I slashed the dummy in the chest area so a deep gash became visible, still without giving the dummy a single glance. "Or just plain kill you." And finally, I stabbed the dummy deeply in the chest area, again without even looking at it. All three actions had been performed quickly and fluidly as I had spoke the possibilities.

"When you jump into the air or Dance haphazardly, you're just as helpless and vulnerable as this dummy." And I pointed to it with my thumb.

"Always remain in the air for as short a time as possible. But even more importantly, predict your opponent's movements as to reduce or even eliminate the risk of an appropriate counterattack while you're in the air. A split second of being in the air is all an opponent needs to incapacitate or even kill you, so always be careful and always plan ahead."

And that's all I can remember. Definitely a pretty thorough memory, as short as it was. ^^"

Oh fun. I love battle and fighing tactics/skills. And what you were saying in your memory makes total sense to me in a practical sense. Makes me feel all itchy to practice some form of martial arts or sword fighting. ^.^

Ha ha! I've actually been pretty anxious for a battle for a while. I'm a fighter at heart; it's in my blood! XD

Well, we'll hopefully be getting that battle sometime soon. ;P

And I know it might sound a bit silly, but like you even said, it does indeed make sense. When you're jumping in the air, you're pretty much totally helpless until you land.

I've actually found myself thinking of other battle tactics and strategies at times. And you should hear me when I'm watching a fight scene in a movie! I'm always pointing out the things that one or both of the characters involved are doing wrong or what they should be doing; it's quite amusing, I'll admit. Keeps me somewhat in practice though. XD

I think a lot of us where being a warrior was an important part of us are itching for the war that is coming, and for me I am personally looking to remember my training and find some dual daggers to train with as those were the main weapons I used.

Mostly I just want to train and be active. I am so not ready for any kind of actual battle though.

Heh. At least YOUR main weapon is readily available if need be, Uzziel; just two sturdy kitchen knives would make due for some impromptu dual daggers. xP

As for me, I'm pretty sure crystal-bladed short-bladed scythes are in short supply, to say the least lol!

I could always make do with a kitchen knife myself though, IF I needed to. Hopefully though, I'll have my scythe back in my hands when the time comes.

Like I said, I'm a fighter at heart; I'm looking forward to using my set of fighting skills and strategies as well in the war to come. ;3

@Ari

Well, if the war comes before we can get ready, we're just gonna have to make due with our rusty skills and maybe get some training in in between battles... if possible...  ^^" But, well, no better training than the real deal, I suppose. XP

I think my weapons were more then just dual daggers, I might have said this in another topic but they were two daggers whose handles could extend and attach to each other at their ends. I am not entirely sure what they were made of though.

This is so strange. Melari, i felt something about the wardadancing session. Emotions! Not sure why, but i was just putting together certain info that i got from Ash and the connection that i felt when u described Lururiel. It makes sense. It matches. Yet i have not focused and thought about it in a while. Recently im thinking about it again, all curious and want to remember. All help is sooooooo welcome! Thanx! santa

... Also... If you are her, then I feel that you have every right to know that I wrote this a few months back...:

Thanx for sharing Melari!
Yea thats a tough one.
I wonder if Lururiel was rebellious at all?
Ash saw me havin a problem fighti g and killing the people i loved....she saw I was just doin my job i was sent to kill by a higher power that i was serving... I thought that must have been where my fall down began sort of... I do not know much about yahwe and i dont know why Lururiel would go with her if u did not approve it.... There must be something awfully bad about Yahwe then.

Is it only necrolim who is sent to kill by higher power to help maintain the balance? Or are there other angels who have that job/ service?

No prob. =)

And yeah... She was certainly a rebellious little bugger when she wanted to be... =)

However, that rebellious attitude of hers sometimes got her in over her head... That time, she got herself in way too deep, and I had to take matters into my own hands... I still don't know if I made the right decision, but... *sighs* I just don't know... I just don't...

I actually remember that shortly after the beginning when she started to serve me, Lururiel had become VERY depressed in a shockingly short amount of time; the killing was getting to her and she had no defense mechanism, nothing to protect her mentally, emotionally, and spiritually from the horrors of war.

I know that I had told everyone in the troupe to find something that either took their minds off of the bloodshed or that somehow made it enjoyable for them. For example, my defense mechanism is something I like to call selective sadism: when I'm in the middle of a battle or killing a specific target, something in my mind "flips" on and makes seeing blood and the act of causing others (specifically the opposition) pain things that give me pleasure (not of the sexual persuasion, mind you), and it protects my mind, my heart, and my soul from the horrors of war by making it enjoyable for me. Don't get me wrong; in that state, my mind still knows that the things that it is deriving pleasure from are indeed terrible and horrific things.

In any case, Lururiel had always LOVED music, she absolutely adored it. So... I gave her a drum one day when I decided that enough was enough with seeing her so upset and distraught. Then I told her to play it.

*chuckles* She asked me how to play it, and I answered by telling her to play to Nature's Rhythm. She was a complete natural at it! From then on, she was mainly an Amplifier. Mind you, she had a bladed weapon as well and was well able to kill with it once she had been playing her music for a short while.

So yeah. Lururiel's defense mechanism became the music she made while playing her drum during battle. One could always tell how into it she was when she played... And if she couldn't play her drum when she had to eliminate a target, she would play the music mentally, and that did the trick as well.

Again, don't get me wrong. She always had her reservations about having to kill those she cared for when she had to, but well... Sometimes, things just had to get done. I think that's one of the reasons I became so close to Lururiel: she had to live with knowing that she had killed several of the people she loved and I felt so terrible, so at one point, I made it a point to get closer to her. After that, it just came naturally, and eventually, we really were like sisters.

Also, yes. The only angels who I sent out to kill needed targets and were under my command were the Necrolim. I'm not sure, however, if I'm the only higher power who sent out angels to assist in maintaining the Balance. Only the Trinity (Birthkeeper, Lifekeeper, and Deathkeeper) have angels from a certain class under their command. I believe Areniin (the Lifekeeper) had a few seraphim under her command, and Seraakeu (the Birthkeeper) had an archangel or two under his command on occasion and he was very fond of Lucifer, but I don't know remember what kinds of commands they gave the angels under THEIR command. I was around, interacted with, and commanded the Necrolim FAR more regularly than either Seraakeu or Areniin commanded their angels (they only gave their angels commands rather rarely).

I missed you so much, Lurururiel... I'm so, so sorry for what I did to you so long ago... Could you ever find it in your heart to forgive me...? I can understand if you can't though, I really can... I only wanted to protect you, but, Gods, I really can understand if you can't forgive me...

I didn't think you would miss me so much after what I did... But it still makes me so happy that you miss me... I thought you would completely HATE me...

I'm so sorry... I don't think I can ever apologize enough for what I did to you. I didn't mean to hurt you the way I did... I miss you too, Lururiel. You're my little sister, even if we're not related by blood, and I NEVER EVER wanted to make you cry...

... Lururiel, sometimes you can be incredibly stubborn, and that rebellious streak of yours has at times caused you more trouble than good... But if there's anything I can ALWAYS count on from you, it's the loyalty, love, and complete kindness you have towards those who have earned your trust...

I truly am honored to be among those who have your trust, Lururiel; it's never been an easy thing for someone to earn from you. Your respect is easier to earn than your trust, and I think that's saying a lot.

... Thank you. For everything thus far. And thank you for forgiving me... I think I finally have the closure I need now to finally forgive myself for my final actions towards you from long ago...

=)

Yes yes yes please i dont want there to be any unresolved stuff left. Awww, wow is it so? So nice. Thanx for all the shared memories. it is amazing to me how u remember soooooo much. Interesting, for me it is so far feeling and emotions only. Nothing else clear yet, not remembering myself clearly as Lururiel , but u remember Lururiel and Lururiel remembers Melari. All i know is the feelings i felt. I love you

Oh... And im so curious. Do u know Melari, where Lururiel went next after death? I wonder what Yahwe did with the body. And do u know where Lururiel came from before she started serving under u? Was she sent ? Did u have a way of recruiting necrolim? And where did they come from?
What was she doing before ? If she was not used to killing i wonder was she having a differe t task before?
Oh and what did her drum look like? Was it 2 sided or one sided? So curious.

I'm afraid I don't know where Lururiel went after she died nor do I know what Yahweh did with her body. I just know that he took it with him when he disappeared.

... Funny you should ask that, actually... The Necrolim weren't so much a class of angel as a SUBclass. The Necrolim were angels of all different types and before serving me, they served the main gods and goddesses. And they allowed me to take angels to serve me as Necrolim; there was an agreement between us. So along that same vein, yes, I did have a way of recruiting them. Contrary to what you may think, the angels I recruited as Necrolim weren't necessarily natural-born killers (so to speak) nor were they the bloodthirsty type. I recruited angels who fit VERY specific criteria:

1: Angels who were exceptional in combat.

2: Angels who had a love for both music and dancing.

3: (IMPORTANT) Angels who could kill without becoming corrupt (without losing kindness, morality, and goodness from their hearts).

4: Angels who either already could, or had the potential to learn to combine general combat with dance-like moves.

5: Angels who had exceptional stamina.

6: Angels who were skilled in decoding/reading energy signals.

7: (IMPORTANT) Angels who can find it themselves to kill others, or who have the potential to be taught to do so.

Any angel that fit all of the above criteria was eligible to become one of the Necrolim. However... it usually wasn't a choice on their part. If an angel was eligible and I decided that I wanted them in the troupe, then they would be... drafted. In other words, they were required to serve me if I saw fit.

But I was never COMPLETELY insensitive regarding the drafting process.

Occasionally, if I saw that one of the Necrolim was truly unhappy and just couldn't learn to deal with the job, I would offer them a way out; sometimes, if they really couldn't deal with it, I would just... let them leave. And that would be that. They would then continue their life from before.

However, Lururiel was a bit of a special case. I was walking around one night, and I spotted an angel being shoved to the ground and shouted at. There had been some scrolls in the ground beside the angel before she had been pushed down. I walked over to her and helped her up. The other angel spat that I "shouldn't help scum like her"

I cleared my throat, and said, "Excuse me?" The other angel wasn't even looking at me until then. Then he freaked out when he recognized who I was and apologized for his disrespect. The angel I had helped up was silent the entire time. Before leaving, I told him to leave her alone.

A few days later, I was informed that I was being sent a new recruit, but that the angel was being sent to me as punishment for their consistent failure; the angel was supposedly good at absolutely nothing. Of course, I argued against said angel being placed under my command, but they weren't having any of it. So I reluctantly accepted.

Imagine my surprise when, looking both completely ashamed of herself and completely frightened... was the angel from that other night, the one who was shoved over and being yelled at. I soon learned that her name was Lururiel and I took her under my wing. I also quickly learned that her being good at "absolutely nothing" was complete bullshit. When I trained her, she was astonishing, just like the other Necrolim. I think they never put her into combat because she looked frail and was so nervous and shy in the beginning. I already told you that she couldn't deal with the killing at first and became very depressed, but once she learned how to deal with it, she became even better at the killing and was happy as ever off the battlefield.

Before becoming one of the Necrolim, she did everything ranging from singing in the choir to organizing scrolls at the library.

Also, her drum was one-sided.

Hi, thanx again for elaborating.
Yea, im pretty ignorant on the subject matter, so i need to do some reading.
This is pretty sad history then. Aww, not so empowering... I wonder if im working on these insecurities in this life still. Ive been through some personal break throughs and have still lot to heal and get my power back.
Lately somehow i have a feeling like as im finding out about Lururiel, im noticing parallels in my life today... Anyone had that before? Like lately had some bad luck ... Dont wana get stuck.
